In 2023, José Luis Nieto was awarded by the Government of the Province of Cádiz (Spain) with the Medal of the Province of Cádiz in recognition of his career and the quality of his professional work. 

In Europe he has performed concerts at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (Italy), Hamburg Laeiszhalle – Elbphilharmonie (Germany), Stockholm konserthuset (Sweden), Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen (Denmark), Juan March Foundation in Madrid, The Auditorio Nacional in Madrid (Spain), West Road Concert Hall in Cambridge (United Kingdom), Salzburg Mozarteum (Austria), Belgrade Philharmonic in Belgrade (Serbia) and many others.
 

In his visits to Latin-America, Jose Luis Nieto has offered concerts in venues such as the Gran Teatro Oriente and the Providencia Cultural Center in Santiago de Chile, the Cultural Center of Spain in Antigua Guatemala, the National Theater of Guatemala in Guatemala city and National Theater of Honduras in Tegucigalpa, the National Theater of El Salvador, the Auditorium of the University of Costa Rica in San José, National Library of Panama, National Theater of Nicaragua in Managua, Music House of Quito (Ecuador), Municipality of Lima (Peru), CAFAM Theater of Bogotá (Colombia), Central Bank Theater of Paraguay in Asunción, at the National Symphonic Center in La Paz (Bolivia) and many other famous stages in cities such as Arequipa (Peru), Cali (Colombia), Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), Porto Alegre (Brazil), Mexico City (Mexico), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), and Montevideo (Uruguay).
